Cydia Tweak: SpotiSearch Brings Spotify Searching To Spotlight
SpotiSearch, a recent addition to the Cydia Store, expands on the default functionality of Spotlight through adding search support for the music streaming service Spotify. You can enjoy the jailbreak tweak regardless of whether you’re a free or premium Spotify subscriber, and the package itself is available to download for $0.99 in the Cydia Store.
Once installed, SpotiSearch – which requires both iOS 7 and the Spotify Music iOS app – uses the free SearchLoader package to bring Spotify searching to Spotlight. You’ll be able to search for track name, artist, or album using the iOS Spotlight search field, and search results can be used to directly launch the Spotify application.
If you have a premium subscription, your SpotiSearch result will play the selected track in Spotify. If, on the other hand, you only have a free account, SpotiSearch will have the Spotify application play a radio station based on your search query.
Creator Tyler Hoffman adds in the jailbreak tweak’s release notes:
If an artist or album is selected, it will open up the respective artist or album page in the Spotify app.
Before using SpotiSearch, you’ll need to have configured your country from the jailbreak tweak’s Settings app preferences pane. Here, you can also set a custom action for selecting a track, Hoffman notes.

As mentioned, SpotiSearch can be downloaded in the Cydia Store for $0.99, and it requires the free Spotify Music app. Though you can use the package with a free Spotify account, this is a jailbreak tweak that premium subscribers will particularly appreciate.
