SoundHound Now Lets You Easily Add Your Discovered Music To Your Spotify Playlist

February 22, 2014
The popular music-discovery app SoundHound has just received an update that brings enhanced integration with the popular music-streaming service Spotify. Through its latest update, SoundHound has gained a new feature dubbed "Add to Spotify." This feature allows you, as a SoundHound user, to turn your discovered music into a Spotify playlist without having to leave the SoundHound app. "SoundHound users had previously been able to listen to discovered tracks on Spotify," the SoundHound team notes, "but now they can also generate playlists on Spotify while still inside SoundHound." In the new version of SoundHound, you can link the app to your Spotify account via the official Spotify app for iOS. You can then opt to have your discovered music added to your Spotify playlist automatically or manually by tapping the Spotify icon. Also featuring improved Twitter sharing reliability, the new version of SoundHound is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.1 or later. An ad-free edition of the app, called SoundHound ∞, is also available in the App Store for $6.99. SoundHound received its last major update last December, thereby gaining iTunes Radio integration. With that feature, you can discover music by an artist in SoundHound and in one tap instantly create that artist's station in iTunes Radio. It's worth noting that SoundHound's new Spotify integration appears to have been introduced in response to an update to Shazam last December that brought a similar integration with Rdio.
