You Can Now Upload Your Beautiful Photos Right From The 500px iOS App

February 13, 2014
The official iOS app of the premier photo-sharing platform 500px has just been updated with a significant new feature: photo uploading. That's right. You can now upload photos directly from the 500px app. Just tap the new Upload button to add photos from your iOS device's photo library (including images imported from your advanced digital camera's SD card) straight to your 500px portfolio. When uploading, you can edit the photo's thumbnail, title, description, tags, category, set, and metadata. Now, if you're concerned that the addition of this new feature signals a decline in the quality of photos shared on 500px, the 500px team offers some words of reassurance that it's still all about showcasing great photos, whether they're taken with a DSLR camera or an iOS device:
We know that for some, there is the concern that the quality of 500px will diminish with the ability to easily share mobile photos on the platform. Let’s remember the way our community lives and thrives together. It’s up to the community to share, but also to help each other improve in our crafts. We see 500px as a home for all creatives, and we will always encourage people to share their best works, whether that’s using a Canon 5D Mark II or an iPhone 4.
The new version of 500px is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. The app was updated with full support for iOS 7 last December, along with the ability to edit photo details. See also: VSCO Cam 3.0 Features Integration With VSCO Grid And Other Enhancements.
