PayPal Update Ushers In Improved Security And Accessibility

March 5, 2014
PayPal’s official iOS app has just been updated with a number of improvements. First up, version 5.4 is designed to help boost security, which is always a good thing. Users can link their phone to PayPal via SMS messages so the company can always confirm their identity. Customers of the PayPal Extras MasterCard, eBay MasterCard, and PayPal Smart Connect can now see the available credit in their Wallet and use it as a preferred way to pay in stores. Finally, the new version brings some accessibility updates for smoother in-store payments. Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, PayPal can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Back in November, version 5.2 of the app was finally introduced that brought an iOS 7 look and feel to the app, tossing the previous raised texture and faux stitched leather UI. With the mobile payment market beginning to blossom, PayPal doesn’t want to be left behind. According to a recent report, PayPal wants to partner with Apple on its rumored payment system that works with Touch ID.
