Showtime Sync 3.0 Brings iPhone Support, iOS 7 Redesign And New Features
March 6, 2014
Showtime has just updated its official second-screen app for iOS, Showtime Sync, to version 3.0.
Showtime Sync augments your enjoyment of Showtime original series, including "Homeland," "Justified," and "Episodes." The app automatically listens to determine if you're watching an enhanced Showtime episode. If so, it syncs up to show you relevant features, trivia, polls, and more.
Released in September 2011, Showtime Sync has, as mentioned, just received its 3.0 update. Perhaps most notably, Showtime Sync 3.0 comes with universal support.
You see, the app was originally launched for iPad only. But with its universal update, it has consequently been made compatible with and optimized for iPhone and iPod touch. What's more, the universal update introduces a new iOS 7-inspired design for both the app's iPhone and iPad editions.
Showtime Sync 3.0 also adds two notable features. One, you can now browse content from other episodes or other series while remaining in sync with the episode you're watching. And two, you can now leave the app and be notified when new synced bonus content becomes available.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Showtime Sync 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
