Thumbs Up For Stream Web, A Thumb-Friendly Web Browser App For iOS
March 23, 2014
Safari and Chrome are quite good Web browsers for iOS. But the newly released Stream Web may just be the best Web browser that's decidedly built for the mobile platform.
That Stream Web is designed for mobile in general and for iOS in particular is plain to see. Sporting a minimalist look and a gesture-based interface, the app comes with key features that make for easy on-the-go full-screen browsing.
In fact, Stream Web can be used with just your thumb, with all controls, from entering a URL to rearranging tabs, available from the bottom access bar.

Speaking of tabs, the app supports an unlimited number of them. Notably, it also supports dual browsing, effectively enabling you to browse two sites at a time. To activate dual browsing, tap and hold on a link and select the dual browsing option in the pop-up menu. The screen will then be horizontally split to accommodate the two sites.
Another noteworthy component of Stream Web is its eponymous Stream feature, which has been integrated into Forbes Magazine's Newsstand app. With this feature, everything you share or save is added to Your Stream for you to revisit anytime. It also allows for visual sharing, with which you can cut out anything on the screen to share via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Evernote, Tumblr, email, or text.
Stream Web also features the ubiquitous pull-to-refresh mechanism and read-later support via Pocket.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Stream Web is available now in the App Store for free.
