Apple Updates Its MacBook Air: New Devices Now Cheaper, Faster

April 29, 2014

Apple has updated its line of MacBook Air laptops launching new, cheaper models which start at $899. Besides offering customers a lower price point, the new models are also equipped with a 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Haswell processor.

Indeed, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise: as a reminder, a report surfaced online yesterday claiming that new MacBook Air models were incoming. Now, the new models are available to purchase from the Apple Online Store; as mentioned, prices start at $899 for the 11-inch entry-level model and climb as high as $1,199 for the 13-inch 256 GB SSD MacBook Air.

Of course, customers can still customize the processor, RAM, and SSD inside of their new MacBook Air.

Later this year, Apple is expected to launch a new 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display. We’d heard previously that a refresh could be scheduled for WWDC, however most of us are now expecting a MacBook Air with Retina display to rather appear towards the end of 2014, instead.

Until then, Apple’s refreshed MacBook Airs are available to purchase in the Apple Online Store from $899. We’ll keep you updated with further information concerning the product line as we receive it.
