Apple Will Now Recycle All Of Its Devices For Free

Continuing efforts to become more environmentally responsible, Apple has confirmed to the Associated Press that it will offer free recycling of all its used products.
The company is also promising to power all its retail stores, offices, and data centers with only renewable energy sources.
With Earth Day on Tuesday, Apple is looking to make the company even greener. The recycling program will be available at any Apple Store, according to the report:
Apple had already been distributing gift cards at some of its 420 worldwide stores in exchange for iPhones and iPods still in good enough condition to be resold. Now, all of the company's stores will recycle any Apple product at no charge. Gift cards won't be handed out for recycled products deemed to have little or no resale value. The offer covers a wide array of electronics that aren't supposed to be dumped in landfills because of the toxins in them. In the past seven years alone, Apple has sold more than 1 billion iPhones, iPods, iPads and Mac computers.Earlier today, Apple released a new video that looks at the company’s overall environmental efforts. Narrated by CEO Tim Cook, “Better” takes a look at the steps Apple is taking to reduce its impact on climate change, find a way to use greener materials, and conserve resources. Apple is planning to go all out for tomorrow’s celebration. Along with covering the Apple Store logos in green, employees at some locations will be wearing Earth Day shirts. An internal event will also be held at the company’s main campus.
