Vimeo For iOS Updated With Improvements To Search And Swipe Gestures

April 6, 2014
The popular video-sharing website Vimeo has just issued another update to its official iOS app. First and foremost, the latest update to Vimeo for iOS brings a welcome improvement to its search feature. When the app was updated for iOS 7 last September, search was made notably absent. It wasn't restored until a month later for iPhone and over three months later for iPad. Now, search has been improved to become more accessible in the app. Previously, you had to pull down from the top of a feed to reveal the search bar. But now, there's an always present search button at the top that you can tap to bring up the search bar and help you find the videos you want. The latest update to Vimeo also makes some slight adjustments to the app's swipe gestures, which were introduced last February. Now, you can swipe to the left to add a video to Watch Later and to download it to your device. Swiping to the right lets you share and like the video. The new version of Vimeo also includes fixes for some playback and networking bugs. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Vimeo is available in the App Store for free. See also: Lights, Camera, Acquisition!
