Yahoo Mail Update Brings News, Search And More Into The Mix

Yahoo Mail for iOS devices has just been updated with the leap to version 3.0. And the app now features much more than just email.
In an attempt to broaden the focus of the popular title, Yahoo has added personalized news, search capability, weather, sports, stocks, and the News Digest.

Users can now select from one of three tabs on the bottom of the app – Mail, News, and Today. Yahoo discussed more about the new sections in a blog post:
When you’re finished reading and replying to your email, see what’s happening in the world by tapping on the News icon. From celebrity gossip to the latest political news, you’ll find it in your personalized, visually rich news stream. Let’s head over to the Today icon. Here’s where you’ll find a snapshot of the information you care about most every day and search — from your local weather to a news digest to the latest stock quotes and sports scores you care about.The changes will be rolling out to the app in the next few weeks. A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Yahoo Mail can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
