Belkin Updates Its WeMo App For New Crock-Pot, Maker Products
Belkin has just updated its free WeMo iPhone app for two upcoming WeMo-connected products: the Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker and the WeMo Maker.
You can download the updated WeMo app now, and besides the above additions, a series of small bug fixes have also made an appearance in the application. Unfortunately, iPad support is still missing in the free app.
As you may remember, Belkin unveiled WeMo support for the Crock-Pot and Maker products ahead of CES back in January. The smart crock-pot connects with Belkin’s home automation service and allows users to check on pot temperature, enable or disable the pot, or set a schedule right from an iPhone or iPod touch device (via the WeMo application).
Concerning the WeMo Maker product, however, as we explained a few months ago:
The second new item in the cards from Belkin is WeMo Maker, which allows users to add WeMo compatibility to products controlled with a DC switch. Though pricing isn’t known as of this writing, we have heard that WeMo Maker will be compatible with IFTTT, allowing users to create, utilize, and share a number of recipes using the if-this-then-that service.
We’re not sure when either product is set to launch, but the updated WeMo app suggests we could see the Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker and the WeMo Maker appear soon. We’ll keep you updated with further information concerning the products as we receive it.
In the meantime, would-be home automators can pick up the Belkin WeMo Switch, the WeMo Light Switch, the WeMo Insight Switch, WeMo Motion, and WeMo Baby from Belkin’s online store.
As mentioned, Belkin’s WeMo iPhone app is available to download free of charge on the App Store.
