Birdbrain Is Back: Gets Optimized For iOS 7, Adds Useful Twitter Graphs
Birdbrain, one of the oldest but least updated Twitter clients for iOS, has received a major revamp adding support and optimization for iOS 7, new graphs for Twitter statistics, and more. The updated app, Birdbrain 3.0, can be downloaded now on the App Store and is optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Birdbrain’s last update arrived more than a year ago now, so is the new version worth the wait? We think so: a big redesign for iOS 7 and significant speed improvements have appeared in the app, and now Birdbrain – which was never cluttered – is now all the more minimalistic and elegant.
Besides the redesign, Birdbrain 3.0 also features graphics for Twitter statistics over at its “Summary” screen, allowing users to gain at-a-glance information on various aspects of their Twitter account(s). Finally, a new “Followers you follow” view allows Twitter users to keep track of their pals using the application, developer Cactuslab explains.
Here’s a complete recap of the changes made in Birdbrain 3.0, as outlined in the app’s release notes:
Everybooody… Everybooody… Birdbrain’s back, ALL RIGHT!
We’ve been crazy at work on this update to Birdbrain; redesigning almost every little bit for iOS 7. And we are super excited about the result! So excited that we gave the ol’ bird a lick of new paint as well. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
We haven’t just been iOS 7ing, we’ve also added new graph views on the Summary screen, and a new “Followers you follow” view so you can keep a track of your buddies.
There are lots of other little tweaks and improvements, not to mention it should be a nudge faster, so please enjoy it and let us know what you think on Twitter @birdbrainapp!
Birdbrain isn’t meant to replace your go-to Twitter client, but instead offers a dedicated space for statistics related to your Twitter activity. We originally reviewed the app back in 2010, and our conclusion remains the same: “if you like stats and you use Twitter, you need Birdbrain. No doubt about it.”
As mentioned, Birdbrain 3.0 can be downloaded for $2.99 on the App Store, and it’s optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch.
