Google Play Music For iOS Gets Playlist Editing And More In Latest Update
May 30, 2014
Aside from the official iOS app of Rdio, the official iOS app of Google Play Music has also just received a notable update.
The latest update to Google Play Music for iOS most notably adds the ability to edit playlists (finally!). It also adds a new Shuffle Artist feature that, as its name suggests, lets you listen to songs from the same artist in shuffle mode.
The newly updated Google Play Music app also features a new Downloaded Only filter, enabling you to show only the songs that you've downloaded for offline listening.
In addition, the updated app boasts an improved user interface with a new scrollable app header.
Google Play Music is available in the App Store for free. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
Google Play Music was launched for iPhone and iPod touch last November and was redesigned for iOS 7 the following December.
It was previously updated last March, ostensibly with nothing more than "bug fixes" but actually with a hidden universal build, hinting at the imminent release of the app's iPad version.
Google Play Music is one of the high-profile rivals of Beats Music, which was recently acquired by Apple, in the music streaming space.
