YouTube Is Developing A Separate Mobile App For Creators

May 23, 2014
YouTube has announced some new initiatives that are sure to please content creators on the site. In its first Creator Preview video, YouTube offered a sneak peak of its newest mobile app designed for creators. Here’s the complete video. Click here if you can’t see it. Along with that news, YouTube is planning a feature that will let fans contribute money directly to their favorite creators. Also, a crowdsourcing initiative will allow fans to create captions and subtitles for videos in more than 60 languages. Recently, YouTube has unveiled new comment management features, a way for artists to share in revenue from eligible cover song videos, and an expansion of the Creator Academy. Currently, the company has two free apps on the App Store. YouTube is the service’s main app while YouTube Capture allows users to record, edit, and share videos. Both apps are universal for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini.
