Apple Adds MLB.com At Bat To Its List Of CarPlay-Compatible Apps

June 24, 2014
It’s time to play ball. First spotted by MacRumors, Apple has added MLB.com At Bat to the list of CarPlay-compatible apps on its site. The MLB.com At Bat app can be downloaded from the App Store now for free. An in-app purchase of $2.99 per month or $19.99 for the entire season is required to unlock most of the features. Most notably, the CarPlay support should allow users to listen to both home and away team's radio broadcasts of games. Officially unveiled back in March, CarPlay allows users to interact with their iOS device in a quick and safer manner. Along with Siri integration, the system allows users to look at Maps, read text messages, and play music. Other announced third-party apps compatible with CarPlay include Beats Music, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and Stitcher. Currently, you’ll need a iPhone 5/5s or iPhone 5c to use CarPlay. Along with being available later this year on new models from car makers like Honda, Ferrari, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Hyundai, Alpine and Pioneer are planning aftermarket systems with CarPlay as well.
