BBM For iOS Updated With Simpler Signup, Easier Contact Adding And Other Tweaks

June 3, 2014
As announced by BlackBerry just a few days ago, BBM for iOS has received an update that includes several notable improvements. First up, the update offers a simpler signup process, which now requires only a name, an email address, and a password for a new user to get started with the popular messaging service. It also brings a new sign-in screen for existing BBM users. The new version of BBM also features an improved experience for adding new BBM contacts by email. Now, an invitee can just click the link on the invitation email to be contacts with the inviter, effectively doing away with the need for the former to send a PIN invite back to the latter. BBM 2.2, as the new version is designated, also adds 16 new emoticons, changes the name of the Updates tab to the more appropriate "Feeds," and includes bug fixes and performance improvements. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, BBM 2.2 is available now in the App Store for free.
