Apple is planning some nice changes to AppleCare+ and more. That’s according to a new report from 9to5Mac.
At a recent meeting, Apple’s Tara Bunch, vice president of AppleCare and technical support initiatives, detailed some future plans.
AppleCare+ has been a nice hit for Apple with more than 30 million signups and $2 billion in revenue. Currently available in 14 countries, the protection plan covers iOS devices for up to two years after purchase and also covers up to two incidents of accidental damage.
Buyers need to enroll in the plan within 30 days of purchasing their iOS device. But according to the site, Bunch says Apple is considering increasing that timeframe to 60 days after purchase.
The VP also noted that Apple will introduce an iOS device support feature in the fall allowing technicians to screen share on an iPhone or iPad.
Finally, Bunch said Apple is working to improve support for Apple IDs, which account for almost 25 percent of support calls. Apple wants to introduce more self-help tools for functions like password resets and login problems.
