Competitive Aegis Tournaments Are Coming Soon To Infinity Blade III

June 13, 2014
The acclaimed action RPG Infinity Blade III is set to gain a new Aegis Tournament mode, as confirmed by Chair Entertainment to Touch Arcade. Aegis Tournaments are competitive events where you attempt to post high scores. At the end of each stage in a tournament, only the top qualifying players get to move on to the next round. Touch Arcade explains:
The Aegis Tournaments tie in to the ClashMobs, being asynchronous challenges, but instead of assisting the global population, players will be competing for high scores against the Infinity Blade 3 player base. Competitions will be tiered, with players who score highly going on to the next tier, and able to win powerful and rare items that will be handed out only through Aegis Tournaments.

Aside from Aegis Tournaments, Infinity Blade III features challenges in solo Trials and cooperative ClashMobs. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Infinity Blade III is currently on sale in the App Store for only $2.99, down from its regular price of $6.99. The game was significantly updated last month with new "Blade Masters" features (see video above), including the return of Ryth, the Solar Trans weapons, and the introduction of the Collector.
