Is The Newly Released Glacier Rush The Next Flappy Bird?

June 6, 2014

In the absence of Flappy Bird in the App Store, many iOS gamers are probably on the lookout for the next big thing that is not an outright clone of Dong Nguyen's hit game. If you're one of them, consider the just-released Glacier Rush.

To be sure, Glacier Rush doesn't challenge you to pass through the gaps between side-scrolling obstacles. But much like Flappy Bird, it does offer a simple one-touch control gameplay and elicit a “just one more game” reaction.

In Glacier Rush, you have to drag your finger around a single-screen environment to control a narwhal. Basically, you have to bring the narwhal to the fish while avoiding the tumbling ice blocks.

Easy peasy, right? Well, not really.

But to help you get higher scores, Glacier Rush presents the elusive red-bellied fish and the rare gold fish. The former triggers the Fish Rush bonus, which fills the screen with lots of fish for your narwhal to eat, and the latter triggers the Ice Crush bonus, which gives your narwhal the power to swim right into the ice blocks.

Glacier Rush also features Everyplay integration for watching and sharing instant video replays of your games.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Glacier Rush is available now in the App Store as an ad-supported free-to-play title.
