Following in the steps of the original Pebble smart watch, the Pebble Steel will be available for sale at brick-and-mortar Best Buy locations and BestBuy.com starting on Sunday, June 15.
Originally launched back at CES in January, the Steel builds on the company’s first-generation watch. Along with a Gorilla Glass crystal, the new model offers an RGB LED light to indicate the charging status. The watch has the same e-paper display, five-to-seven day battery life, and waterproof design of the original.
The watch will be available for $229. Buyers can select from two different finishes, brushed stainless or black matte. Both options come with a black and leather strap.
If you’re interested in the original Pebble watch, you can purchase that at Best Buy for $149 now. And along with the black and red colors, a white edition of the Pebble will be available starting on Sunday as well.
The companion app, which is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, can be downloaded now on the App Store. A major update back in February ushered in Pebble’s own app store with more than 1,000 apps and watch faces.
