SteelSeries Unveils 'Stratus XL,' A Bigger Controller For iOS Gamers

SteelSeries, makers of the popular "Stratus" wireless Made for iPhone (MFi) gamepad, have a new controller in the works called "Stratus XL."
Though little concerning the controller is known at present, it looks like the recently announced iOS accessory aims to offer owners a similar product to the Stratus gamepad -- but with one clear and important improvement: a hike in size.
While SteelSeries' Stratus was a small-size controller that was portable but nevertheless took some getting used to, it seems Stratus XL will be a full-size iOS controller that feels more like the Xbox gamepads and PS DualShocks we all know and love.
Besides this hike in size, expect Bluetooth connectivity from SteelSeries' Stratus XL, and compatibility with the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and even Mac computers. Given that the Stratus retails for $79.99, it might be wise to anticipate a higher price point for the Stratus XL, too.
Unfortunately, little else concerning the new gamepad is known -- save for the fact that it'll launch later this year. As such, we're hoping to learn more about the new product in the near future; we'll keep you posted on this front.
In the meantime, if you haven't already be sure to check our review of SteelSeries' Stratus.
As mentioned, Stratus is available to purchase online for $79.99 and it's compatible with the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.
