Endomondo Sports Tracker And Pebble Smart Watch Now Play Nice Together

July 2, 2014

In response to user requests, Endomondo has introduced a dedicated Pebble smart watch app for its Endomondo Sports Tracker iOS app.

According to Endomondo, the new watch app is “the most advanced fitness app for Pebble” as it enables users to start, pause or stop a workout while exercising and supports up to three configurable data metrics to be displayed:

This new, free app from Endomondo allows users to start, pause or stop a workout while exercising. The app can also display up to three configurable data metrics, such as distance traveled, heart rate and workout duration – making it the most advanced fitness tracking app for Pebble. Additionally, the Endomondo app vibrates Pebble smartwatches for each mile, kilometer or lap completed, and will briefly display a performance summary for the distance.

Available on the Pebble Smartwatch appstore, the new Endomondo app for Pebble supports syncing with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s, and requires the latest version of the Endomondo Sports Tracker app for iPhone. To start syncing between the two apps, go to the settings section of the Endomondo app for iPhone and connect the app with a Pebble smart watch.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, Endomondo Sports Tracker is available on the App Store for free.

Endomondo Sports Tracker is featured in AppAdvice's Workout Companion Apps and Best GPS Activity Loggers AppGuides.

The Pebble Smartwatch app is also optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, and is available on the App Store for free. It was last updated just yesterday with additional improvements, along with the Pebble smart watch's firmware itself, which was updated with support for double-click notification skipping, improved Bluetooth LE connectivity, and some stability improvements.

If you don't have a Pebble smart watch yet, you can choose from two models. The original version is available for $150 while the upgraded Pebble Steel costs $249. Both models can be ordered from Pebble’s official website.

Before Endomondo, Misfit launched its integration with Pebble last week with the introduction of a new version of Misfit for iOS and a new Pebble smart watch app to go with it.
