OmniFocus 2 for iPhone update brings TextExpander support and more

July 16, 2014
Popular productivity app OmniFocus 2 has just been updated with the move to version 2.2. Easily the biggest addition is support for the TextExpander app. If you don’t know, TextExpander allows users to expand keyboard shortcuts into frequently used text snippets and phrases. OmniFocus 2 users can expand text into most text fields, notes, and search. A pair of changes have also been made that bring the app in line with the Mac version:
• “Next action” has been changed to “First available” to match the terminology used by OmniFocus 2 for Mac. • Updated the style of Project status icons to match OmniFocus 2 for Mac.
Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, OmniFocus 2 costs $19.99 and can be downloaded from the App Store now. TextExpander, a universal app, can be downloaded for $4.99. The completely revised app arrived back in September. Our own Christine Chan, in her AppAdvice review, came away very impressed. It received our AppAdvice App of the Week title shortly after its release and was even named as one of our Top 10 Paid iPhone Apps of 2013. OmniFocus 2 for the Mac arrived back in May. That $39.99 title, available in the Mac App Store, is also highlighted by a revamped look along with a number of other features.
