OneDrive update ushers in AirDrop support and more

July 23, 2014
Microsoft has just recently updated the iOS app for its OneDrive cloud storage service. Version 4.3 offers three nice improvements. First up, users can now share files via AirDrop, which is a nice addition. A new option also allows users to exclude video uploads from the Camera backup. Finally, enhancements to video streaming allows for smoother playback. A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, OneDrive can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Before the most recent update, version 4.2 arrived last month. That brought the ability to open documents in the Office for iPad suite and more. Microsoft has also recently adopted some changes to keep the cloud storage service competitive in the face of added competition. All users now receive 15GB of free storage, and the paid plans took a steep price drop. Instead of $7.49 per month for 100GB, Microsoft now only charges $1.99. A larger 200GB plan costs just $3.99 per month.
