Welcome back to our weekly look at some of the newest iOS device accessories to hit the market. In this edition, we’re featuring a powerful set of Bluetooth headphones, a multifunctional iPad Air case, and more.
Powerbeats2 Wireless Headphones from Beats Electronics
The latest product from Apple-owned Beats Electronics cuts the cord. The Powerbeats2 Wireless Headphones, inspired by basketball star LeBron James, are both sweat and water resistant. Also featuring a tangle-free cord, the built-in microphone allows users to take hands-free phone calls. The headphone battery can go for up to six hour of music playback before needing to be recharged. And to help find that perfect fit, Beats includes four different sizes of earbuds.
Retailing for $199.95, the headphones can be purchased from a number of retailers, including Apple’s online store.
DJ Connect from Griffin Technology and Algoriddim
Griffin has teamed up with Algoriddim, developer of the popular
djay app, to introduce the DJ Connect for both iOS and Mac devices. The Connect, smaller than a size of cards, is designed to allow dee jays to preview the next track while the current track is playing, also known as precueing. DJs interact with the device by plugging their headphones into the front Connect while also plugging external speakers into the RCA stereo outputs on the back.
A yellow glow underneath the controller gives off a helpful ambient light for use in the dark. It includes a Lightning, 30-pin, and USB cable.
The DJ Connect is $99.99 and can be ordered from Griffin’s store now.
FlipBook for iPad Air from Felix
A high-quality folio case for the iPad Air, the FlipBook from Felix supports both horizontal and landscape viewing with 10 unique angles. The front cover is also designed to activate the iPad’s automatic on-and-off function.
Available in both a black and tan finish, the FlipBook is $59.99 and available at your local Apple Store or
Apple’s online store.
"Brazilian Pop" Limited-Edition Symmetry Series Case from Otterbox
Otterbox has teamed up with “Project Runway” judge Nina Garcia, who has designed a limited-edition "Brazilian Pop" Symmetry case for the iPhone 5s/5. Inspired by street art from this vibrant country, the case is made with dual-material that is designed to absorb shock and withstand drops. A raised bevel helps to keep the iPhone’s screen safe from scratches.
The case is $49.95 and can be ordered from Otterbox’s site now.
