Together at last: Together for Mac finally spawns an iOS app

Together, the popular Mac application for keeping all your digital items in one place, has spawned an iOS app.

Called Together for iOS, the application can be downloaded on the App Store for $9.99, and it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. With it, iOS device users can access their Together library using a mobile device; this library can include documents, images, movies, Web pages, bookmarks, or anything else users have dragged into the application.

In the app’s release notes, developer Steve Harris explains:

Together is an app for keeping things in one place. Notes, documents, images, movies, sounds, web pages and bookmarks can all be kept in Together, tagged, previewed, collected together in different ways and found again instantly.

Together works with iCloud to share your library with your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, and Mac (Mac app available separately).

Admittedly, I’ve not used Together for Mac before now, but at first glance the addition of the iOS app could work well for paperless practitioners looking to share their digitized documents between a Mac and several iOS devices. At present, this is something I use Evernote for (automating the process using Hazel and this useful AppleScript), however for best results users do need an Evernote Premium account.

In the iOS app, users can create and import documents and data into Together, they can edit and preview content, and the application also promises iOS device owners encryption and advanced organization tools.
