Volume trigger returns as self-timer and torch improvements arrive in ProCamera 7 update
ProCamera 7, the popular Camera app replacement for iOS 7-powered devices, has just received a useful update that sees the return of the app's volume trigger functionality and the introduction of improvements to its self-timer and torch features.
If you prefer snapping pictures using the physical volume buttons on your iOS device or headphones, you have reason to rejoice with the arrival of ProCamera 7's latest update. That's because, as mentioned, the new update reintroduces shutter triggering by volume button to ProCamera 7.
Also thanks to the update, ProCamera 7's self-timer function now allows you to take three photos, e.g. selfies or group shots, in a quick burst sequence. This new capability can be turned on in the app's settings.
The new version of the app also introduces an adjustable intensity slider to its torch or flashlight function. ProCamera 7 developer Cocologics explains:
Now when you long press on the flash icon, a multi-step slider will appear, you can adjust the brightness of the continuous Torch light. With the torch slider you can add just the right amount of fill light to your portraits, especially at night. This is also useful when taking photos of close objects that causes a lot of reflections. ProCamera 7 is not only the photographer's app, it's also a 'swiss army knife' filled with many new practical uses related to your camera.
In addition, the latest update to ProCamera 7 includes image processing speed enhancements, Retina graphics improvements, and bug fixes.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, the new version of ProCamera 7 is available now on the App Store. In celebration of its update, the app is currently on sale for just $0.99, down from its previous price of $3.99.
ProCamera 7 received its previous update — its biggest update yet, in fact — last April. That update included new TIFF file saving, “Open In…” functionality, high-resolution Instagram support, and Shadows and Highlights correction tools.
