Amazon Instant Video now lets you quickly resume watching and find previous searches

August 9, 2014
Amazon has just released a small yet nonetheless notable update to the official iOS app of its premium unlimited video streaming service. The latest update to Amazon Instant Video for iOS delivers a couple of new features along with some minor improvements. For one thing, it adds the ability to quickly resume watching recently started videos right from the home screen. For another, it introduces a new search history feature, enabling you to quickly get to something that you've previously searched for. The new version of Amazon Instant Video also includes accessibility improvements, bug fixes, and stability optimizations. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Amazon Instant Video is available on the App Store for free. Amazon Instant Video's previous update, which arrived in June, was a decidedly bigger one. It added support for First Episode Free videos, new video playback controls, and streaming of content from HBO (featuring all seasons of “The Sopranos,” “The Wire,” and “Deadwood,” and early seasons of “Boardwalk Empire” and “True Blood,” to name a few).
