Check out the 'iPhone 6' Lightning cable's reversible USB connector in this video

August 19, 2014

After getting a sneak peek with the images leaked over the past few days, we finally get to see the rumored “iPhone 6″ Lightning cable featuring a reversible USB connector in action.

Sonny Dickson, a reliable source noted for leaking prerelease versions of Apple hardware, followed up on the image he posted yesterday with a new video showing the cable that is said to come with Apple’s next-generation smartphone:

As you can see, the 10-second video first features the packaging of the cable and proceeds to show its reversible USB plug being inserted into a standard USB port in both ways — similar to how the cable’s Lightning end can be connected to an iOS device’s Lightning port no matter its orientation.

The likelihood of a Lightning cable featuring a reversible USB connector is supported by a patent awarded to Apple earlier this year.

Apple’s iPhone 6, which is rumored to come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models, is expected to be introduced at a special media event on Sept. 9.
