As Apple rumor season ends, schematics leak purportedly showing parts for the ‘iWatch’
After tomorrow, we’ll finally know what both the “iPhone 6” and “iWatch” look like. Until then, the rumors continue. The latest is a series of photos posted on Reddit purportedly showing engineering drawings of parts for Apple’s long-rumored wearable device.
Based on these drawings, the iWatch is expected to include a rectangular case, speaker system, and a round printed circuit board (PCB).
The poster notes:
Will have a mic, speaker and Siri. The flexible multi-touch screen will add a new dimension to the UI. There won’t be any lightning connector or other ports. battery will last over a day. waterproof to about 20m. 8 models will be announced – 4 ‘colors’ 2 sizes. Timeline not yet finalized. Mass production is scheduled to start in January. This is the most complex and expensive product to manufacture to date.
Not surprisingly, there is no way to confirm the validity of the images.
Apple is expected to unveil, but not release, the company’s first wearable device tomorrow, Sept. 9. The scheduled Apple event begins at 10 a.m. PDT from the Flint Center in Cupertino, California.
