Gameloft improves squad battle matchmaking and more in Modern Combat 5: Blackout
Gameloft has just deployed the first ever update to Modern Combat 5: Blackout.
Launched last July, Modern Combat 5 is the latest installment in Gameloft’s popular Modern Combat series of first-person shooters, which began with the release of Modern Combat: Sandstorm five years ago.
“Our objective is to constantly enrich the gaming experience,” Gameloft says in the release notes for the first update to Modern Combat 5, “so we’ve been listening to your feedback and working on improvements.”
Apparently, much of the player feedback is focused on the game’s multiplayer mode, as Gameloft has improved the squad battle matchmaking in Modern Combat 5. As a result, matchmaking now begins only when there are at least two players on each squad.

The new version of Modern Combat 5 also includes an improved spawning system, the ability to edit the profile name when connected to a social network, and the ability to delete friends and event reward messages.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout is available on the App Store for $6.99. It’s compatible with iOS 7.0 or later on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad 2, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad mini with Retina display.
