The long wait is over: Gameloft's Modern Combat 5: Blackout is out now on iOS
July 24, 2014
After much teasing (and then some more), Gameloft has finally released the highly anticipated latest installment in its Modern Combat series of first-person shooting games.
Indeed, Modern Combat 5: Blackout has just been launched on iOS, and it's out now on the App Store.
Modern Combat 5 notably features four customizable classes that you can level up across an "intense" solo campaign and a "high-powered" multiplayer mode:
Step into the action as the latest installment in the best FPS series raises the bar for shooters once more! Create a squad, add your friends and test your individual and team skills against other squads! Is single player your thing? Then step into a world on the brink of anarchy and shoot your way out of one dire situation after another to expose a lunatic who’s trying to tear the world to shreds.Check out the game in action in its official launch trailer: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The game also boasts a unified progression system, advanced graphics, and customizable controls (although, as expected, MFi controller support is initially absent). Modern Combat 5: Blackout is available now on the App Store for $6.99, with no in-app purchases in spite of its being a Gameloft title. It's compatible with iOS 7.0 or later on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad 2, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad mini with Retina display. As previously pointed out by Gameloft, the game requires an Internet connection to play on account of its unified progression system. Modern Combat 5: Blackout is the fifth installment in Gameloft’s Modern Combat series of first-person shooters, following Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour.
