Hotel Tonight now lets you book hotels up to a week in advance
Hotel Tonight is not just for booking hotels for the night.
Hotel Tonight has just gone 6.0. And with this update, the app now lets you book accommodations up to seven days in advance. Just tap the search icon to set your check-in and check-out dates.
As to why it has decided on a week and not, say, a month in advance for bookings, Hotel Tonight says in the release notes for its 6.0 update, “We’re focusing on bookings up to a week out because it’s close enough that you likely already know your plans (and the weather) and gives you the flexibility to do what you want, when you want, where you want.”
Hotel Tonight cofounder and CEO Sam Shank also tells TechCrunch that one week is “the Goldlilocks of bookings windows”:
After all, he suggested that “last minute” can mean different things to different people, and booking a weekend getaway on Tuesday or Wednesday can still feel pretty spontaneous. At the same time, when you’re a week out, you start to have more information, like the weather forecast, that can help with trip-planning.
In line with this move, Hotel Tonight 6.0 also features upcoming weather forecasts to help you choose where to stay and what to pack.
The latest update to Hotel Tonight also introduces “playlists” of hotel recommendations based on certain themes, e.g. hotels for weekend beach getaways and hotels with nice pools.
