Watch former NBA player Rex Chapman's acts of Apple Store theft and court appearance
Last week, it was reported that Rex Chapman was arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise from an Apple retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona. Now, as noted by Engadget, a couple of videos concerning the former NBA player’s case have surfaced online.
One of the videos shows Chapman’s various acts of theft. These include multiple instances of him frequenting the Apple store’s accessories section and leaving with items after pretending to pay for them using the Apple Store app’s EasyPay self-checkout system. Take a look:

As pointed out in the video of his initial court appearance, Chapman is facing charges of 14 felonies, comprising nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property. He is accused of shoplifting $14,270.30 worth of items from the Apple store and subsequently pawning them for cash on eight different occasions from May 24 to Aug. 6, 2014. He is asking for a cash bond of $25,000.
Chapman is scheduled to again appear in court for a status conference on Friday, Sept. 26, and a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Chapman reportedly made $22 million during his NBA career from 1988 to 2000, including stints with the Charlotte Hornets, the Washington Bullets, the Miami Heat, and the Phoenix Suns.
