Good news, jailbreakers: Pangu for iOS 8 is set to improve
The Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 8 (and iOS 8.1) might have been a surprising release, but it sure wasn’t a stable one. The initial absence of Cydia, problems with Safari, and issues with the Messages app left a lot of folks confused, however the good news for jailbreakers running iOS 8 is that Pangu’s countless problems are set to be addressed in the near future.
In a Twitter update published recently, the Pangu Team (@PanguTeam) confirmed that they’re “working with @saurik to make Cydia stable asap.” Of course, the group refer here to Jay Freeman (@saurik), the creator of Cydia and its main developer.
The same Twitter message also noted that the team is “fixing bugs” including problems surrounding the Safari app and iMessage. “Please wait …,” the Pangu Team asked.
You can download Pangu for iOS 8 free of charge online: it’s even optimized for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and a number of popular jailbreak apps and tweaks have since received updates adding support for iOS 8 and iOS 8.1. However, it’s clear that a lot of work still needs to be done before Pangu can provide jailbreakers with a truly stable, usable jailbreak for their iOS devices.
Here’s hoping Pangu for iOS 8 is improved soon. For updates, you can follow the team at @PanguTeam. We’ll also be sharing further news here, so check back with us.
