Take note: UpWord notepad app goes universal for iPad
UpWord Notepad (formerly Upword Notes) has finally gone universal.
Released last January for iPhone and iPod touch, the so-called “Mailbox for notes” has just been updated with universal support for iPad and iPad mini.
More than that, it has been optimized with features and capabilities designed specifically for iPad. These include full-screen notes, a full-size keyboard, landscape typing support, and Dropbox syncing across iOS devices.
“Days of design and testing went into making UpWord great for iPad,” developer Lau Brothers adds. “We made dozens of subtle adjustments to maximize usability — for example, icons and text are larger than on iPhone, while divider lines are lighter. We’re excited for you to experience the end result.”
The newly updated UpWord also includes a small ad in the main menu for the app’s pro features, which can be unlocked via in-app purchase. If you’ve purchased anything in UpWord, though, the ad won’t be shown to you.
UpWord was previously updated a month ago with optimizations for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and support for iOS 8, including its own Today widget in Notification Center.
The app’s latest update also delivers bug fixes, including ones for issues affecting landscape typing, TextExpander download linking, and passcode protection on iOS 8.
