Twitterrific updated with additional iOS 8 improvements, mention search and more

October 21, 2014

Twitterrific, the truly terrific Twitter client developed by The Iconfactory, has just been updated with additional features and improvements.

A few days after the release of iOS 8, the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 Plus last month, Twitterrific was updated with improvements to its compatibility with iOS 8 and the new iPhones.

Now, the app has been updated to require iOS 8.0 or later and to leverage the use of sharing extensions in iOS 8 with its share sheet support. In line with this, bookmarking services such as Instapaper, Pocket, and Readability have been removed from the in-app settings, as these services are now accessible through their respective iOS 8 extensions in the share sheet.

The latest update to Twitterrific also adds the ability to search for any user to @mention when composing tweets. “Tap the search icon in compose to initiate a search,” The Iconfactory suggests. “Tap & hold a user’s avatar in search results to view their profile.” If you want to mention a user in your tweet, just tap the user’s avatar.
