Apple expands its Device Enrollment Program to more countries and resellers
Apple has expanded its Device Enrollment Program (DEP) to be available in more countries and open to third-party sellers, as noted by 9to5Mac.
Highlighted by Apple at its WWDC keynote presentation in June, DEP is a service dedicated to the management and deployment of corporate-owned Mac and iOS devices. It does away with the need to manually configure devices for businesses and educational institutions, and enables users to start using them right out of the box.
Previously offered only in the U.S., DEP has been made available by Apple in the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the U.K.
In addition, Apple has opened the program to devices obtained from authorized resellers and carriers as well as devices purchased from its official stores.
These welcome changes to Apple’s DEP come on the heels of a report saying that the tech giant has been “embarking on its most aggressive expansion yet onto corporate turf” with planned partnerships with other companies. This is in addition to its wide-ranging partnership with IBM, which has resulted in the introduction of AppleCare for Enterprise.
