Rdio's family packages now cost 50 percent less

November 13, 2014

Rdio, like Spotify before it, has dropped the price on its family plans by 50 percent. Effectively immediately, adding new family members to the streaming music service costs just $5 each per month.

The new prices are as follows:

  • Family of 2 = $14.99
  • Family of 3 = $19.99
  • Family of 4 = $24.99
  • Family of 5 = $29.99

Last month, industry leader Spotify began offering family members a 50 percent discount on additional accounts. “So if you have a $10 Spotify Premium subscription, your husband can get one for $5 a month.”

In October, the Rdio app for iOS received a significant update, which added support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The 3.0.4 update also added support for CarPlay.
