This week in accessories: AirMask for the iPhone 6 from SwitchEasy and more

November 7, 2014

Happy Friday, and welcome back to our weekly look at some of the latest and greatest iOS device accessories to hit the market. This week, we’re highlighting a pair of iPad Air 2 cases, a beautiful Tweed bag, and more.

Folio Case for the iPad Air 2 from Urban Armor Gear

A rugged folio option for the new iPad Air 2, Urban Armor Gear’s Folio Case protects the entire tablet. Tested to meet military standards for drop and shock protection, the case features water resistant grip material and can place your iPad into a nice media viewing position. I recently reviewed the similar iPhone 6 case from UAG, and this looks like a great option to protect an iPad Air 2.

Available in black or red, the case costs $49.95 and can be purchased from UAG’s site now.

iGlaze Armour for the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus from Moshi

Featuring a high-quality aluminum back plate combined with a shock-absorbing inner shell, the iGlaze Armour weighs less than 2 ounces. A raised bezel helps protect the iPhone when placed screen down. The case material is also designed to be scratch resistant.

The iPhone 6 case is $39.95 while the iPhone 6 Plus version is $5 more. It comes in three different colors to match your iPhone 6 – silver, gray, or gold. It can be ordered from Moshi now.

Arlo Camera System from Netgear

A completely wireless security camera system, Arlo is battery powered and connects via Wi-Fi. Providing 720p video, the cameras are weatherproof and can be used outside or inside. They can also see in the dark with night vision technology. Activated by motion, users can customize the activity alerts and be notified via email or the companion iOS app.

A kit with two cameras can be preordered now for $399.99 from Amazon.com. It will arrive early next year.

KeyFolio Executive Plus for the iPad Air/iPad Air 2 from Kensington

An all-in-one choice to carry an iPad Air or iPad Air 2 Kensington’s KeyFolio Executive Plus is made with premium sheepskin and is highlighted by a six-row backlit keyboard with seven selectable colors. The tablet attaches to the folio with microsuction technology and will leave no adhesive or residue when removed. The keyboard can also be removed for multiple viewing angles. Along with a removable business card holder, the entire folio can be zipped closed to protect the iPad Air and keyboard.

The KeyFolio Executive Plus retails for $89.99 and can be ordered from Kensington now.

AirMask for the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus from SwitchEasy

An interesting combination of a screen protector and case, the AirMask from SwitchEasy is designed to protect your entire iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. It adds only 0.35mm of thickness and weighs 10 grams. After fitting the bottom shell, a special adhesive allows the top shell to fit perfectly without any bubbles or misalignment.

The iPhone 6 version will retail for $24.99 while the case for the larger handset is $29.99. Buyers can select from a gold, silver, or gray version. It can be preordered from SwitchEasy with delivery late this month.

Harris Tweed Bag from Griffin Technology

Made with Harris Tweed, fabric made exclusively on the islands of the Outer Hebrides off the coast of Scotland, this new bag from Griffin is designed to fit either a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. While the padded center pocket protects your Mac, an exterior pocket can fit an iPhone, keys, and other important items. A removable leather shoulder strap is accented with a cushioned shoulder pad.

The bag retails for $249.99 and can be purchased now from Griffin’s site.
