Vimeo for iOS updated with revamped video screen and improved notification controls
The official iOS client of the popular video-sharing app Vimeo has received yet another notable update.
In mid-August, Vimeo for iOS was updated with video uploading, private sharing, and friend finding. In mid-September, it gained support for an iOS 8 extension featuring easier uploading and sharing. Then, earlier this month, it gained a new Downloads stream that presents videos that have been saved on the device for offline viewing.
Now, the latest update to the Vimeo app introduces a couple of enhancements. The more notable of these is the revamped video screen that shows more information about what you’re watching. This makes it easy to see the title, the creator, the upload date, the play count, and the description. It also includes options for liking, commenting, downloading, watching later, and sharing.
The other enhancement is the ability to control app notifications. In the app’s settings section, you can now independently enable or disable notifications for completed video uploads, received shared videos, new likes, new comments, and new followers.
Of course, the latest update to Vimeo for iOS also includes various bug fixes and improvements.
The new version of Vimeo is available now on the App Store for free. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. It’s yet to be optimized for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, though.
