Acclaimed iPad drawing app Procreate comes to iPhone via new Pocket edition
Procreate, the acclaimed iPad drawing app developed by Savage Interactive, has finally been made compatible with iPhone. But it arrives not through a universal update to Procreate for iPad. Rather, it does so in the form of a separate iPhone app called Procreate Pocket.
As its appendant label suggests, Procreate Pocket is a more portable edition of the original Procreate app, enabling you to do sketches and illustrations on the go.
Powered by Savage Interactive’s proprietary 64-bit Silica painting engine, Procreate Pocket boasts many of the features of its iPad progenitor, including various drawing tools, dynamic layering, and 4K cinema canvas support optimized for the iPhone hardware. It’s especially optimized for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

What’s more, the app offers full sharing support on iOS 8, including iCloud Drive, AirDrop and AirPrint integration, for sharing files in multiple formats including .procreate, PSD, JPG, and 24-bit PNG.
The launch of Procreate Pocket coincides with the release of a major update to Procreate, which brought a new Palm Support feature and other improvements.
Compatible with iPad running iOS 8.1 or later, Procreate is available on the App Store for $5.99.
