KakaoTalk updated with Secret Chat mode, Decline Reinvites feature and iPhone 6 support
KakaoTalk, the flagship app of the South Korean messaging company Kakao, has just been updated with a pair of new features that offer users greater privacy and control.
One of these is the new Secret Chat mode, which employs end-to-end encryption on messages sent and received within a chatroom. To enter Secret Chat mode, tap the menu icon at the top right corner of a chatroom and select the new Secret Chat option.
Note that Secret Chat is initially available for one-on-one conversations only. It’s expected to be implemented for group chatrooms in early 2015.
The other significant new feature in the new version of KakaoTalk is the added ability to decline “reinvites” to group chatrooms. This allows you to reject all future invites to group chatrooms that you longer wish to participate in.
The latest update to KakaoTalk also fixes a bug that causes improper display of chatroom photos and another that automatically sets the message font size as large.
Moreover, KakaoTalk has finally been updated with native resolution support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
