The Korean messaging app company KakaoTalk has just updated its flagship iOS app with several notable improvements.
For the most part, the new version of KakaoTalk Messenger for iOS includes improvements to it handling of photos.
For one thing, the app now lets you send and view photos in their original resolution. It also features a redesigned and enlarged thumbnail view for photos sent in a chatroom, with a new button for deleting photos to boot. Moreover, it now lets you save or delete multiple photos or videos in a chatroom album.
Aside from its photo-related enhancements, the latest update to KakaoTalk Messenger extends the maximum recording time for voice notes from about three and a half minutes to five minutes. As well, it adds Kakao Friends emoji to the basic emoticon tab.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of KakaoTalk Messenger is available now on the App Store for free.
Late last month, fresh off the announcement of its merger with the Korean Internet portal Daum, KakaoTalk made its debut on the Mac platform with the launch of KakaoTalk Messenger on the Mac App Store.
