SoundCloud now lets you create and add to your playlists on iOS
The official iOS app of the popular online audio distribution platform SoundCloud has just received a significant update.
First off, the update optimizes the app with full resolution support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Also, it brings various bug fixes.
But most importantly, it adds support for playlist building on iOS. “You’re already listening to your playlists when you’re on the go on our iPhone app,” SoundCloud notes. “Now, create and add to them on your phone, too: from today, we’ve added playlist creation on iOS.”
As in SoundCloud for desktop, playlist building on iOS works by letting you add a track to an existing playlist or starting a new playlist with it to add to your collection.
Playlists are private by default, but you can set them to public to share them with your friends and followers.

As noted by SoundCloud, playlist building is initially supported on iPhone and iPod touch only. It’s set to be added to SoundCloud for iPad in early 2015.
The introduction of playlist building and iPhone 6 support in SoundCloud for iOS coincides with the addition of a new Top Tracks in Your Network playlist plus iPhone 6 support in the official iOS app of Spotify.
