Starbucks app update rolls out limited support for a new mobile order and pay system

December 3, 2014

The popular Starbucks app for the iPhone has just been updated featuring the triumphant return of a highly requested feature.

With version 3.2, users can now quickly browse and search the mobile menu to find more than 150 food and drink items. Nutritional information is even available on the menu.

Starbucks is also using the update to roll out a beta version of its new mobile order and pay system in Portland, Oregon. With the app, latte lovers can order and pay for their drink directly from the app, and it will be ready to pick up at the store.

Customers can fully customize their drinks from the app. Starbucks is promising that the beta program will be rolled out to other cities soon.

The Starbucks app is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Before the most recent update, the last major changes arrived back in August. Version 3.1 added a number of nice features, including the ability to import an eGift card directly into the app.
