You can now rename files and folders in the Dropbox iOS app
Dropbox’s iOS app has just received a nice update with the move to version 3.6.
And easily the biggest improvement is that users can now rename their files and folders directly from the app. That long-awaited change will make it much easier to manage information stored in the cloud.
Here are the rest of the changes in the updated version:
• Swipe right on a folder to see more actions, including rename. • We’ve moved a few things around – there’s a new more actions button (⋯) when viewing files . • On iPhones, the more actions button (⋯) also includes the full file name, size and other details. • Edit Office documents and save them back to your Dropbox.
A universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Dropbox can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Users will receive 2GB of storage for free.
To upgrade to the Pro plan, which offers a roomy 1TB of storage, you can make an in-app purchase of $99.99 per year or $25.99 for a three-month subscription.
Before the most recent update, the last major version of the app arrived back in October featuring optimization for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus along with support for Touch ID on iOS 8 devices.
The company also recently announced a partnership with Microsoft that will closely integrate the Dropbox app with Office for iOS.
