Apple rumored to launch optional stylus with 'iPad Pro'
“Who wants a stylus?” The late Apple cofounder and CEO Steve Jobs famously asked this rhetorical question in January 2007 when he revealed that the iPhone would be used with the pointing device people are born with: the finger.
Fast forward to eight years later, and here comes a rumor suggesting that Apple now thinks that users may actually want to use a stylus after all, at least with its so-called “iPad Pro.”
According to a recent research note released by the well-regarded KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), Apple is likely to launch a stylus as an optional accessory for its rumored biggest iPad yet.

The upcoming iPad’s display, which is said to measure 12.2 or 12.9 inches, is expected to lend itself well to use in enterprise and content creation. It would make sense then for Apple to offer its own stylus, in addition to the many iPad-optimized third-party styli already available on the market, including the pictured Pencil by FiftyThree.
Kuo’s prediction is based on the fact that Apple has filed several patent applications related to stylus technology, with the most recent one pertaining to a Livescribe-like device that can automatically digitize handwritten text.
