FitStar brings its personalized video workout program to the Web

April 2, 2015

FitStar, well known for its personalized video workout program, has had a busy few weeks. Early last month, the company was acquired by fitness tracker powerhouse Fitbit. And earlier today, the exercise program made its debut on the Web.

The training program can be accessed here and is available on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on both the Mac and PC.

Just like the iOS app, the portal will feature workouts from former football star Tony Gonzalez. The goal-based programs are adapted to the user’s progress after each session. Workout stats and progress, including stats, friend list, momentum, levels achieved, recent badge updates, and an ongoing activity feed, will be synced and updated between the two platforms.

You can download FitStar Personal Trainer and FitStar Yoga now on the App Store. Both apps are free and universal for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini.

While the basic training is free, you can unlock a FitStar Premium membership with an in-app purchase of $7.99 per month or $39.99 per year. Users receive premium programs and moves, unlimited sessions, high-definition video, and priority support. The subscription covers both the app and new Web portal.

It’s interesting to see FitStar grow to the Web. Parent company Fitbit can easily use the training program to help push its fitness tracking hardware in the face of the Apple Watch arriving late next month.

Currently, Fitbit users can import their daily activity into FitStar and receive a tailored exercise program. FitStar users can also publish their workout stats into the Fitbit ecosystem to help evaluate their overall health. Users can also create a FitStar account with their Fitbit account information.
