Pandora Radio for iOS updated with support for Apple Watch
Pandora Radio has just updated its official iOS app with support for the Apple Watch, which has been made available for preorder ahead of its official release on April 24.
As announced by Pandora last week, Pandora on the Apple Watch lets you see the title and the artist of the currently playing song with just a glance. It also lets you thumb-up or thumb-down tracks to personalize your listening experience and pause playback right on the “Now Playing” screen.
What’s more, Pandora for Apple Watch features switching of stations and access to new music notifications and volume control — all from the wrist and without having to pull out your iPhone.
The latest update to Pandora for iOS also delivers some bug fixes.
Earlier this month, Pandora CFO Mike Herring referred to Pandora’s relationship with Apple as being of a “frenemy kind,” particularly in light of Apple’s launch of iTunes Radio and purchase of Beats last year.
Pandora’s Apple Watch update comes just a few hours after Apple released the first beta of iOS 8.4, which introduces a new design for the Music app on iOS.
Pandora appears to be the first of the leading third-party music streaming services to support the Apple Watch. Your move, Rdio and Spotify.
